Shift Happens |

Shift Happens What a good feeling after being stuck in something, to break free and move forward! Finally. The shift happened. I can see some light. I can breathe. Making that shift doesn’t always come easily. I’d like to share what is helping me create the change and move into a shift. I call it my Feel-Good Meter. It works on the basis of self love which I think comes when we start taking self responsibility. Here’s the breakdown: Put your hand on a hot stove and you get burned. It doesn’t feel good because your hand doesn’t belong on a hot stove. Try that with a self belief. Take the belief I’m not-good-enough. What does your Feel-Good meter say when you think you’re not-good-enough? The meter says that belief doesn’t feel good because it doesn’t belong to you. In other words, IT’S NOT TRUE. That’s self love talking, Peaches. It’s telling you your thoughts and beliefs don’t feel good if they’re not your true self. Kids instinctively know this Feel Good technique. We call it the Terrible Twos and we teach it out of them. Start taking responsibility and give your sweet self the love you expected others to give you. It’s not their job to give you anything. It’s not your job to give THEM anything. The shift begins when we stop putting our power in the external and put it back in the internal. Meet your own needs and let others meet their needs. [I’m not talking about the needs of dependent infants and children, here. This is about adult needs.] You’ll know you’re on the Self Love Path because your Feel Good Meter tells you so. Do you love yourself enough to make the shifT?
