Hitting Rock Bottom |

Hitting Rock Bottom Do you have kids? You may not agree, but I believe one of those most frustrating questions we hear from them is: I like to think I've developed better patience in my adult years, but realized, I still ask that same question. A lot, actually. Did I lose those 10 lobs? Did I master the new TV remote? Did the garage get cleaned? All are just adult versions of my childhood "are we there yet"...... Where I first noticed this was in regards to my hitting rock bottom on a personal matter. I was SO anxious to get there, to finally close the door, to be able to move forward that I didn't respect or even learn from the journey that was taking place. Wow --I sure feel like crap. THIS must be rock bottom. Except it wasn't rock bottom. How do I know? Because I hadn't learned a thing from what I went through. How do I know THAT? Because the same situation kept showing up again and again, in a different costume. My aha moment in all this? I understand what it means when folks say life is about the journey, not about the finish line. I was so focused on "are we there yet", I never saw or heard anything else on the trip.
We're all just walking each other home... -Ram Dass Enjoy the journey.
