WATCH OUT FOR LANDMINES! I was reading an email from Dr. Arrizza about his MRP* program and wanted to share some insights I gleaned. [His website is listed below if you’re interested.] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Why is it individuals can react differently to the same event?
Well it's because they have been programmed differently in the way they interpret the events. That’s good news! That means it’s possible to alter this programming and therefore reduce sensitivity.
Let's assume that a person learns that they have just been fired. Trouble! This reaction might be based on an early memory of rejection or of being poor. That early memory then created feeling helpless, alone, afraid, vulnerable, etc.
The memory lives in the person's unconscious mind as an "emotional landmine". We are triggered to "go off" when a similar event of the memory occurs in our current life [ like getting fired]. We often have no clue as to what will create a negative trigger, or that we’re triggered, in the first place.” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When multiple negative memories exist they tend to get triggered simultaneously. This can create a more powerful reaction – BOOM! there’s the landmine. This is important- your tolerance to stress is based on the number and intensity of those old memories.
Uncovering these landmines is why I believe awareness is SO important in your progress. If you can’t see them, you will suffer their impact. Where it becomes another concern to me is when we DO see the landmines, but ignore them and fail to move out of their field. We’re then stuck dwelling in the drama OF A CHILDHOOD MEMORY. I know the damage that drama does. I call this living by default. Awareness lets us move out of default, SEE the story, which then allows us to reframe the memory, from a healthier, Adult perspective. That is how you release it’s hold over you.
Fezzik coaching begins the move forward with awareness, support and accountability. Buckle up, Batman. Could get bumpy. Good thing you don’t haffto do this alone. ================================================== *Dr Nick Arrizza/Mind Resonance Program- MRP Web Site: http://telecoaching4u.com
