Wilderness Ventures offers one- to six-week journeys for young adults, leading them into wilderness areas ranging in location from the expansive U.S. National Parks of the Rocky Mountains and the Hawaiian Islands to the summits of Mount Rainier of Washington and the Grand Teton of Wyoming. Since 1973, Wilderness Ventures has hosted a wide variety of adventures, depending on the degree of difficulty desired by the participant.
Introductory Adventures, the least challenging of the programs, are a gateway for discovery, giving participants a taste of the outdoor experience. Leadership Adventures, designed for students completing 7th through 12th grades, provide a small-group environment in which each participant learns the value of community and gains self-confidence through the introduction of valuable outdoor living skills. On a broader scale, Grand Earth Adventures, the international arm of Wilderness Venture, take young adults ages 14 through 20 to destinations around the world, where they experience different cultures and discover the value of community service. No matter which Wilderness Ventures programs the youngsters choose, the results have consistently proven to be substantial, inspirational, and life altering for over 22,000 alumni.
