A longtime legal professional with a wealth of experience in the field, Synthia Shilling most recently served as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. As a member of the USDA legal team, she compiled Final Agency Decisions (FADs) and oversaw EEO cases from the 17 USDA agencies. In addition to conducting legal analysis of harassment or discrimination cases, Synthia Shilling carefully reviewed Reports of Investigations to adjudicate cases and evaluate findings.
Before joining the USDA, Ms. Shilling nearly six years as an attorney in Prince George’s County in Maryland, where she provided legal counsel on employment and labor law issues. She also worked for five years as an attorney in Anne Arundel County in Maryland and served as private practice attorney with Hogan & Hartson, LLP.
Synthia Shilling received a JD from the University of Baltimore School of Law and an MS in education from Johns Hopkins University. She holds licenses to practice law in Washington, DC, and Maryland.
