Born into a Hindu family on the East African island nation of Mauritius, the founder of Bhakti Marga Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda, became an Acharya of the Sri Sampradaya in 2008. A disciple of Mahavatar Babaji, Sri Rangaraj Bhattar, performed the Acharya initiation, officially welcoming Sri Swami Vishwananda as an instructor and leader in the Sri Sampradaya spiritual lineage of Hinduism’s ancient Vaishnava Dharma tradition. Paramahamsa Vishwananda was bestowed with the title of Mahamandaleshwar (one who presides over a number of temples and Ashrams as a pillar and guardian of faith) during the 2015 Kumbh Mela in Nashik, India.
Paramahamsa Vishwananda formed the international religious organization Bhakti Marga to help him spread spiritual awareness and encourage the world population to both recognize and express the “universal love” that lies within and between each individual. Using his home Ashram near Frankfurt, Germany, as a global base, he travels the world to teach courses in eastern religious practices, conduct spiritual ceremonies, and lead pilgrimages to various sacred sites.
