Since 1975, Slagel Insulation has been spraying polyurethane foam. Starting life as a one-man operation, we’ve grown into a family owned company with many years’ experience in the insulation and commercial roofing industries.
We are a bit different than most other insulation contractors in that we insulate with spray foam exclusively. We do not offer fiberglass or loose-fill blown-in insulation (cellulose) services. This allows us to focus on and develop our techniques and expertise in spraying foam.
Foam insulation is the most effective form of insulation available, and is a great fit for any job calling for thermal protection. The most common projects we see are new home construction remodels additions, basements crawlspaces, garages and large out-buildings (shops warehouses machine sheds). We specialize in metal buildings (both wood post-framed and steel structured) and have proven designs for walk-in coolers freezers.
We spray both open and closed cell foam. They each have their advantages and, depending on project requirements, one will be a better choice than the other. However, closed cell is the most common product we use, as its ability to stop water-vapor, add structure rigidity and provide higher R-values per inch usually means it is the best fit.
We service most of central Illinois, generally working within 60-80 miles of our shop located in Fairbury, IL. If the project is large enough, we will travel farther, and have several times even worked out of state!
