Women are more sensible. They experience more physical pain than men. They tend to prefer medical prescriptions of painkillers, and sometimes they abuse taking them. Men are likely to abuse marijuana. Both men and women tend to abuse amphetamines at the same rate, but women get addicted faster than men.
Considering these facts, we have to treat men and women differently with gender specific rehab.
Vocational-Based Treatment
We worry about our patients’ recovery, by offering them an adequate environment that supports their recovery process. We offer individualized treatment that is partial hospitalization program and also general outpatient rehab.
When we receive a new patient, we offer him or her vocational-based treatment. We focus his recovery on his or her type of work. We know that when they are sober, they will need to reincorporate to society and they have to go back to their job or find a similar one.
When we design their treatment plan, we include activities that will help them develop the necessary skills to perform a job.
Research has shown that employment is important in the recovery process of an addicted person. It gives them a sense of responsibility and a way of living.
If employment is included in the recovery process, they will fill time with productive activities. They will create healthy relationships with their partners or community members. They will avoid boredom and isolation feelings that could lead them to depression.
