Robert Hindes, MD, is a board certified practitioner of internal medicine and infectious diseases. He began his medical career in 1988 as a member of the Danbury Hospital Infectious Disease Group, a position that involved clinical research activities and consulting with infectious disease patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Robert Hindes, MD, left Danbury Hospital in 2001 to join Bristol Meyers Squibb in Connecticut, where he ultimately served as group director of global clinical development and virology. In that role, he acted as the medical lead for clinical development of HCV antiviral compounds.
A Rutgers Medical School graduate, Robert Hindes, MD, spent a decade with Bristol Meyers Squibb before co-founding Trek Therapeutics in 2014, where he serves as chief medical officer. Prior to launching TrekTx, Dr. Robert Hindes consulted for several pharmaceutical companies including Biocryst, Arrowhead Research, Oncore, and Achillion. He gained executive leadership experience as the vice president of clinical development at Pharmasset in Princeton, New Jersey, and served in a transitional role as vice president of clinical research at Gilead Sciences after Pharmasset was purchased by Gilead.
