Founded in 1971, Provo Canyon School features two campuses along the Wasatch Mountains in Provo and Springville, Utah. The school accepts students ages 8 to 18, and features adolescent and pre-adolescent programs for boys and girls. Through the years, Provo Canyon School (PCS) has developed effective curriculum and therapeutic guidance programs to help children facing various emotional, mental, and behavioral challenges. A few of these include bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Staff members at PCS utilize evidence-based clinical treatment in combination with academic instruction, all of which they deliver with personalized attention. Each teacher possesses certification in his or her respective subject of specialization, as well as current or prospective special-education licensure.
PCS hold accreditation and certification from Tricare, the Joint Commission, and the Northwest Accreditation Commission. Additionally, the school enjoys membership with the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
