Pons Medical Research is a company dedicated to reproductive medicine, specialising in the field of surrogate motherhood. The story of Pons Medical started in Ukraine in 2016. At that time, surrogacy services were experiencing a boom in Ukraine and around the world. Pons Medical was founded by Edel Pons Suarez, a Spanish medical expert in the field of nutrition. In 2017, he managed to create a team of several professionals, consisting of specialists in marketing, reproductive medicine and law, in addition to administrative personnel, that with each other took the very first steps in our successful history. Working under the conditions of the Ukrainian environment was challenging. All too often, most of Ukrainian surrogacy agencies were able to attract a large number of clients at the cost of quality and terrible conditions for surrogates. There were additionally problems with the supply of medicines to maternity hospitals and widespread corruption. Faced with these challenges, the company's management made a decision to phase out its work in Ukraine and move its activities to various other countries. From 2021, Pons Medical will no more give surrogacy services in Ukraine. In 2019, the company made a decision to open up a branch in Georgia. At the time, surrogacy in Georgia was attracting even more interest as a result of a flexible legal framework and the absence of corruption.
