A member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and Internal Independent Auditors Association, Philip “Phil” LaTessa possesses more than two decades of experience in the mortgage industry. He launched his professional career as a loan officer at Ottley Mortgage. After three years, Phil LaTessa accepted a position with JP Morgan Chase, fulfilling the same role and honing his expertise in conventional and government-focused residential loans.
Mr. LaTessa then leveraged his years of experience to lead The Funding Source, a firm he founded in Syracuse, New York. Initially offering mortgage broker services, the company quickly received designation from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide HUD-approved loans, commonly referred to as FHA. This propelled the company toward becoming a banker with approval to underwrite loans and train other professionals to do the same. Philip LaTessa opened operations in Pennsylvania, Missouri, and North Carolina before moving on to new ventures. Today, Phil LaTessa remains a successful entrepreneur launching companies, including Weichert, First Residential Group.
