Established in 2008 in Brooklyn, New York, PAVE Academy began operation with an enrollment of 88 students that has since grown to nearly 400 students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. PAVE Academy staff has grown as well, helping achieve the school's goal to keep class sizes small, with an average of 28 students per classroom. The advantage of having two highly qualified faculty members per classroom ensures that each child receives individualized attention.
PAVE Academy’s comprehensive curriculum combines rigorous core subjects such as social studies and science with studies that encourage creative learning, including art, music, Spanish, and physical education. A strong emphasis is placed on reading and writing, with elementary students receiving two hours of literacy instruction each day. Another important part of PAVE’s daily curriculum is mathematics instruction that employs teaching methodologies designed to boost problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The balance between academic activities and enrichment opportunities provides students with a solid foundation that prepares them for success in high school and college.
