Veteran commercial airline pilot Mitchell Engelhart is embarking on a new enterprise in the medical supply industry. He intends to launch a company that will supply lifts for use in patients’ homes and vehicles.
Mitchell Engelhart spent more than a decade as a commercial aircraft pilot. He flew passenger planes nationally and internationally. Following an education at the Albany campus of the State University of New York, Engelhart worked as a cargo pilot early in his career. The post required him to fly to Mexico, Canada, and throughout the United States. During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Mitchell Engelhart piloted for aid operations that helped New Orleans residents.
As a pilot, Mitchell Engelhart supervised flight crews and supplemental staff and worked with air marshals. He ensured that each flight followed flight safety regulations. Prior to take-off, he used aeronautical charts and navigation instruments to file a flight plan that met federal air safety standards and company regulations. He also conducted thorough pre-flight reviews of weather conditions, fuel supply, and flight schedules. He monitored the flight’s load distribution and weight, ensuring that the baggage or cargo was stored properly. When required, he made changes to schedules, supplies, routes, and loads. He brings this commitment to people’s safety and welfare to his new medical supply venture.
