With a philanthropic focus on Brownsville and Cameron County, Texas, Mike Hernandez III leads D & M Leasing as CEO. His Dallas-headquartered firm maintains a presence throughout Houston and North Texas and is recognized as the largest auto leasing enterprise in the nation. Mike Hernandez III’s background with D & M Leasing extends more than three decades, and he bought into the company in the early 1990s.
In addition to holding responsibilities as CEO, Micheal Albert Hernandez III has maintained leadership responsibilities with the parent company Hernco, Inc., since he started it in 1990. His full range of entrepreneurial activities spans real estate development, advertising, cattle ranching, and oil and gas. He retired from many of his day-to-day executive duties in 2011 to focus on philanthropic activities.
Among the organizations Micheal Albert Hernandez III supports are the V3 Army for the Good and the Cameron County Education Initiative. Together with his wife, Mike Hernandez III has set up the Brownsville Scholars Program as a way of providing local Regents' Scholarship recipients with mentorship and funding toward studies at Texas A&M University in College Station. These awards are reserved for those whose financial situations make it difficult to attend college.
