MERRIAMproductions was formed in 2013 by Alan Merriam, founder of MERRIAMschool and MERRIAMpianos. The goal was to create a space without compromise, where musicians of all types could come to experience the joy of recording with absolutely top-notch gear and instruments. Piltchner & Associates designed the facility, and construction was completed by February of 2014. It is now fully functional and accepting clients. The studio is unique for several reasons. First, it's piano is not just hand-made, but hand-picked; the studio is anchored by a 7' Shigeru Kawai SK-6, 2014 production, and was selected from three by the President of Kawai America, and Alan Merriam personally. It is an absolutely delightful instrument to record on. Second, it's A room is large enough to accommodate many orchestral or big-band projects, while at the same time being available as a multi-media performance space.
