Melissa D. Tonn, MD, serves OccMD Group in Dallas as president and chief medical officer. In this position since 2000, Melissa D. Tonn, MD, draws on almost three decades of medical experience to lead OccMD in providing medical management to a number of large companies that have opted out of workers’ compensation. Serving companies in Oklahoma and Texas, her firm leverages a network of contractors to provide services such as evaluation and treatment, second opinions, independent medical examinations, and evidence-based records reviews. In addition to OccMD, Dr. Tonn is a Designated Doctor for the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation. For over a decade, she served as teaching faculty for the required Designated Doctor training course. Melissa D. Tonn, MD, holds an MBA with a focus on health care management and finance and an MPH. Concurrent to her professional and clinical commitments, she shares her expertise in occupational medicine as a lecturer and adjunct assistant professor at the University of Texas School of Public Health. She also serves on the school’s residency program selection committee and as site preceptor.
