Dr. Leon Turovsky, MD, took a rather unlikely path to becoming a medical doctor. Playing the violin was his first love, and he originally studied music at Tashkent State Uchilishche of Music for nine years. By 1964, however, Leon Turovsky, MD, decided to switch his focus to medicine. He enrolled at Tashkent State Medical Institute in Uzbekistan, and earned his medical degree from the university in 1970.
Today, Dr. Turovsky owns and operates Sheepshead Bay Laser Center in Brooklyn, New York. Sheepshead Bay Laser Center provides cosmetic procedures to patients, using state-of-the-art laser and light technology. As a licensed cosmetics laser operator, as well as the center’s Medical Director, Dr. Turovsky has completed over 60,000 cosmetic procedures. He’s also built a reputation among both his patients and peers as one of New York’s finest laser specialists.
In addition to the work he does at Sheepshead Bay Laser Center, Dr. Turovsky also gives to several charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Research Association, Neshama, and the American Lupus Foundation. He is also a proud supporter of both Concerned Women for America, and the American Israeli Political Action Committee.
When he is not at the office, Leon Turovsky, MD, is an avid gardener. He maintains a garden at his home, where he grows all types of berries, tomatoes, figs, and grapes. He also enjoys playing tennis, spending time with his grandchildren, and traveling. In the past, Dr. Turovsky
