Experienced in all areas of development, John J. Cafaro has built experience in the complex processes of land acquisition, zoning negotiation, and utility planning. As executive vice president for The Cafaro Company, he routinely oversaw in-house staff in daily site work for large-scale shopping mall projects, including the Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport, West Virginia and the Target Plaza in Olympia, Washington. John J. Cafaro balanced these responsibilities with leadership of the company's operations department, in which role he devised new cost-mitigation and energy management systems. Now retired from The Cafaro Company, John J. Cafaro has shifted his attention to service as president of the J.J. Cafaro Investment Trust. He has purchased a number of commercial and residential properties, including a 700-acre landfill in West Virginia, and has set to developing a series of diesel fuel refinery centers. He is also involved in the planning of The Heights, a 67.6-acre mixed-use development set to incorporate retail, restaurant, residential, and office space. John J. Cafaro is also actively involved in his community. He donates to a broad range of educational, medical, and outreach organizations, including Someplace Safe and the National Italian American Foundation. An avid golfer in his free time, he also follows the New York Rangers and Yankees as well as the football teams of Ohio State University and Youngstown State University.
