A partner at Eagle and Eagle in Rock Island, Illinois, James Eagle continues his family tradition in the legal profession. As an attorney, he represents clients in matters ranging from personal injury and tax deeds to consumer fraud and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Additionally, he practices transactional law and writes wills, trusts, and contracts. In 2014, Eagle is running for judgeship of the 14th Judicial Circuit in Rock Island County following the retirement of Judge Charles ''Casey'' Stengel. Running as the Republican candidate for judge, he highlights his years of service, extensive experience, and impartiality.
Throughout his 25-year career, Eagle has served as counsel on numerous cases. In Collins v. Hurst, 316 Ill. App. 3d 171, he represented plaintiff-appellants in a matter involving property owners looking to obtain rent from previous tenants. Although the circuit court allowed for payment of back rent, it denied attorney fees. On appeal, Eagle successfully won for his clients reasonable attorney fees from the defendants. Some of his other cases have concerned federal jurisdictional issues related to the service of process and the right of taxpayers to vote on detachment.
