A former executive at Uber and Facebook, Ed Baker has emerged as an expert in viral marketing. He currently serves as an advisor to a number of Internet companies, including Change.org, a San Francisco startup that connects campaign organizers with stakeholders. Ed Baker also recently became an advisor to Crowdpac, a free and open technology platform that helps small-dollar donors play an active role in the political process.
Mr. Baker spent three and a half years as the vice president of growth at Uber, where he developed the company’s driver and rider acquisition efforts during a period of rapid growth. By 2016, his team grew to more than 500 employees, while Uber as a whole expanded to provide more than 20 million rides every weekend.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Ed Baker is an avid endurance athlete. In 2008, he qualified for the US Olympic Marathon Trials with a time of 2:21. He is now training for upcoming Ironman triathlons.
