EPIC Paranormal, is a non-profit research-group comprised of dedicated individuals whose expertise range in related fields from, Psychology to technology. The organizations primary mission begins with the assessment of a families claims, which may include the belief that they may be or are experiencing unexplained phenomena in their home which is paranormal in nature. After a comprehensive investigation, EPIC will carefully process and store all research data, investigative findings, and its analysis until time of reveal to the client.

Our unique team is comprised of skilled and educated members, whose areas of study support and aid in the research of historical locations, photo & video analysis, and technical & analytical work. The team also utilizes & consults with a Psy.D in Clinical Psychology regarding psychological evaluations and implications of specific cases. We at EPIC use professional methods and a scientific approach; this along with an objective mind promotes rational thinking which benefits the investigators prior to entering any location with claims of activity. While we try to find supportive evidence to the claims of unexplained phenomena, our skilled team of investigators will always search for rational explanations to the events that have been suspected as paranormal. We begin by looking for rational explanations and only after all rational, science based methods have been exhausted, do we consider the possibility of paranormal intervention. All of the research and analysis that EPIC does is science based as we only utilize sophisticated scientific equipment as well as stringent methods and techniques. We never utilize Ouija boards, dowsing rods, or séances as a means to either communicate or locate entities. Although we have a great respect for clairvoyants, mediums, and metaphysics, EPIC utilizes science based methods to substantiate claims of the paranormal and validate client experiences.
How We Got Started
EPIC - the Eastern Paranormal Investigation Center was founded and created by Arthur Matos in May of 2006. Many years prior to EPIC’s creation, Arthur researched the paranormal field while meeting many different individuals and groups involved in the field of parapsychology; many of which had already investigated famous locations and utilized several diverse methods for gathering evidence. He was inspired by not only his passion for science and the paranormal, but by the individuals who utilized a scientific approach; to venture out and create his own elite team. His objective was to put together a team of individuals whose current knowledge and skills could be applied as a resource, upon researching and investigating paranormal phenomena. The team’s primary focus was to educate and help families and individuals who claim to be experiencing paranormal phenomena. Through out the years, EPIC has become one of the most revered and structured science based Para-Research and Investigative organizations in the New York Tri-State area.

While EPIC has researched and investigated such historical locations as New York’s Bridge Café, the 300-year-old Church of Saint of Andrews, and Snug Harbor’s Governors House, as well as being featured on several media outlets; as a professionals we understand the importance of exposure, however we do not promote fame-seeking since our main objective is focused on helping individuals & families and educating them regarding their experiences. Our concerns lie mostly with our clients’ well being, as we believe in treating each one as if they were part of our own family. EPIC’s credibility lies in its professionalism.
