ICBC denied liability for this accident. The plaintiff was a pedestrian in a crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle owned and operated by the defendants.
The Court ruled that the defendant driver was negligent in striking the plaintiff, as the plaintiff would have been visible had the driver exercised due care and attention. No contributory negligence was established. The accident caused orthopedic injuries to the plaintiff's femur and wrist, both of which healed. She was awarded the sum of $462,912 following Chris' arguments at trial.
In a 2014 case, Chris represented an injured victim of a motor vehicle accident. ICBC's last offer was $50,000 plus costs and disbursements. The plaintiff's last offer was $64,000 plus costs and disbursements. At trial, Chris obtained for his client an award of $146,000 plus costs and disbursements.
