Terry McEnany, MD, is a former thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon who most recently served as the chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Disease at Luther Hospital and Mayo Clinic Health Services. Dedicated to staying on top of new developments in the field, he was a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, along with numerous other professional organizations. He was awarded the honor of Surgical Traveler by the James IV Association of Surgeons and has written for numerous publications. Throughout his more than four-decade-long career, Dr. Terry McEnany served on several medical school committees and was an assistant professor of surgery at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, and professor of surgery at the Brown University Medical School in Rhode Island. He received his undergraduate degree at Brown.
Since retiring from medicine in 1998, Dr. Terry McEnany has devoted his time to philanthropic pursuits and is working as a ski instructor for the Aspen Skiing Company in Colorado. He sat on the board and was President of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra in Wisconsin, and is on the safety committee for the Voyageur Outward Bound School. In addition to his charity work and ski instruction, Dr. McEnany is studying literature in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
