For more than 30 years, Dr. R. Christopher Goodwin has provided professional expertise in the areas of archeological and historical research, preservation planning, and heritage tourism. A former Yale Peabody Museum research associate and Smithsonian Institution research fellow, he ranks among the nation’s leaders in cultural resource management, preserving the nation’s historical resources. R. Christopher Goodwin, Ph.D., and his firm, R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc., which maintains offices in five states, have contracted with the U.S. government numerous times, serving as principal investigator on large-scale projects. With contract work at more than 200 military installations, he and his firm have worked closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Defense, and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
A court-qualified expert, Dr. R. Christopher Goodwin has published in multiple scholarly journals. He has contributed to American Scientist, Florida Anthropologist, and American Antiquity, to name a few. Married for more than 30 years, Dr. Goodwin has two college-age children. An active member of the community with both civic and church organizations, he also serves as Director of Heritage Montgomery of Montgomery County, Maryland.
