With more than three decades of professional experience, Dr. Michael Elterman has established himself as one of British Columbia’s leading clinical psychologists. In private practice since 1982, he is dedicated to serving adults and children in need of assessment-based clinical services throughout Vancouver. Also a clinical associate of the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University, Dr. Elterman currently works as a clinical and consulting psychologist for Vancouver Coastal Health. Since establishing his practice, he has completed more than 2,500 psychological assessments in court cases related to family and criminal law.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Michael Elterman committed more than a decade to the Family Justice Center, where he filled the role of consulting psychologist. From 1989 until 1996, he also provided psychological consultations for the Parole Board of Canada. The recipient of a Master of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, he is the former Head of the Department of Psychology at University Hospital Shaughnessy.
Dr. Michael Elterman belongs to professional organizations, including the American College of Forensic Psychology, the BC Parenting Coordination Roster Society, and the Canadian Psychological Association. He maintains licensure as a Registered Psychologist by the College of Alberta Psychologists and the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, where he held the position of Board Chair from 2008 until 2010.
