Throughout her career in radiation oncology, Dr. Marta Dahiya has demonstrated a commitment to her patients and a dedication to advancing her professional knowledge. She has built experience in the treatment of many different forms of cancer, including sarcomas and malignancies of the head and neck. Particularly focused on therapies for gynecologic and breast cancer, Dr. Marta Dahiya has taken on the task of ensuring that patients from underserved backgrounds receive the care that they deserve. She upholds a personal policy of accepting all patients, regardless of insurance status, and has taken steps to bring treatment to communities in need around the world.
Dr. Marta Dahiya earned her professional degree from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Colombia, where she graduated third in her class of 57 students. She practiced for two years in Colombia before relocating to the United States, where she became a research fellow in the University of Texas Health Science Center. She completed her internship and residency at the same institution, which granted her the title of chief resident in 2003.
Since that time, Dr. Marta Dahiya has held staff positions at such institutions as Radiation Oncology of San Antonio and Precision Cancer Center. Instrumental in growing the gynecologic radiation oncology practices at both institutions, she now cares for patients at John Peter Smith Cancer Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
