Dr. Deborah Williams began her training as a scientist at New York University (NYU), where she earned a bachelor of arts in biology. Following this, she received a master of science in biochemistry from NYU’s Department of Biochemistry in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Deborah Williams went on to study medicine at the SUNY-Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, New York, where she earned an MD, followed by a PhD in molecular parasitology at the New York University School of Medicine. She completed postgraduate training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Columbia University, and the Tulane University School of Medicine.
An active medical administrator and professor, Dr. Deborah Williams has spoken at professional meetings of such domestic organizations as the National Association of Health Educators and the Queens Sickle Cell Advocacy Network. Furthermore, she has addressed the Beth Israel School of Nursing Global Program as an MD, as well as the Haitian American Psychiatric Association and other international audiences. At present, Dr. Deborah Williams serves as an associate professor and principal investigator in the Department of Preclinical Sciences and as the director of the New York State Education Department’s Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) at the Touro College of Pharmacy.
