A Spring, TX, resident, Donald “Don” Lee Pferdehirt works as head of global technical support for MDI Operations for Bayer Corporation, dealing with the safety, product development, and quality improvement for the finished goods division of the company. Before taking this position in 2005, Don Pferdehirt served as production lead, where he was responsible for an area supplying more than 60 percent of the company’s worldwide final product capacity. Don Pferdehirt utilizes his 20-plus years of experience in management and engineering to analyze situations, research options, and achieve positive results. With a strong interest in quality improvement processes and safety programs, he developed and presented a program on Attitude and Its Impact on Morale for the company. He also initiated the company’s Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) process and advanced control techniques. Fluent in German, he served as project manager and design team leader for a $7 million project in Germany. He also designed a capacity expansion in order to increase sales in the country by $25 million per year. Don Pferdehirt’s charitable endeavors include support for the American Heart Association and the Lupus Foundation of Pittsburgh. In his spare time, he enjoys staying active, with interests including skiing and running.
