Matthew Disney currently serves as a full professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida. Since joining the organization, he has coauthored a number of scholarly papers published in outlets like the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Science, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Communications, and ACS Chemical Biology. Before accepting his present position at the Scripps Research Institute in Florida, Matthew Disney maintained responsibilities at the University at Buffalo Department of Chemistry in Buffalo, New York, as an assistant professor. In honor of his achievements, Matthew Disney has earned several awards, including, most recently, the American Chemical Society Eli Lilly Award in Biological Chemistry and the American Chemical Society Carbohydrate Division David Y. Gin Award. Further, he has successfully secured outside funding for his research, receiving a grant from the National Institutes of Health for the purpose of developing in-silico methods for designing molecules that home in on RNA. In addition, Disney has utilized funding from other sources, such as the Rainwater Charitable Trust and the Fidelity Bioscience Research Initiative.
