Proficient in both general family and sports medicine, Dr. Casey Batten serves dual professional roles as Lead Medical Team Physician with the Los Angeles Rams and Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine with the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Institute. Before assuming these positions in June of 2016, he oversaw all intercollegiate athletic medical care as Head Team Physician for the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) Golden Bears. Dr. Casey Batten has also served UC Berkeley as an Associate Team Physician and an Assistant Clinical Professor.
Outside of his full-time work as a physician, Dr. Batten has provided critical medical coverage at a broad spectrum of major sports events including the 2017 PGA Tour Genesis Open, the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and the 2014 United States Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He has also accomplished a great deal as a clinical researcher and is currently collecting data for a study on pre-concussive and post-concussive binocular and oculomotor functions in collegiate varsity athletes.
