Established in 2002, Carlbrook School is dedicated to helping underachieving students to reach their goals and to ultimately pursue mainstream high school and college education. Overseen by a board of regents, the institution offers evidence-based, innovative programs, a curriculum that emphasizes character building, and hands-on faculty. Carlbrook School is recognized as a leader in alternative education. The school has almost 700 alumni, who are currently studying at or have graduated from institutions such as Auburn University, Furman University, New York University, Pitzer College and the University of Wisconsin.
Carlbrook School emphasizes creative academic scheduling and employs methodologies that encourage students to play active roles in their own educational development. Thanks to its year-round schedule, the institution provides students with structure and support, helping them to improve their transcripts or take advanced coursework.
In addition, the monitoring of students’ academic progress allows faculty to address developing issues at an early stage. Carlbrook also has a College Counseling Department to guide and support students through the college application process, and to ensure that they gain valuable skills such as time-management and organization.
