To talk about how the volleyball was created and its weight you have to go back to the moment where the history of volleyball began. This sport was born in the United States. A biology professor, William G. Morgan, in 1895 was assigned as director of education at the faculty where he taught. As in charge of teaching sports Mt-Police, he wanted to implement a discipline in which students could stand out. However, I did not want to impose a sport like football or basketball, in which the physical demand is tremendous. But I wanted to maintain the same level of competitiveness. In this way, volleyball emerges as the polymerization of various disciplines. This result required an instrument to be executed. The ball that should be used could not be basketball or a soccer ball , because both are very large and heavy for the way they want to use in volleyball. This is why a balo, light and flexible, should be created to keep it in the air during the plays. First volleyball and its weight Initially, as it was a sport that had characteristics of other disciplines, the balls used were basketball. But how much the basketball weighs . Actually, they are very heavy for this game, so they had to get another ball to replace it and not involve much damage when used by the players.
In view of the circumstances, W. Morgan asked a company in Massachusetts to manufacture a spherical sheath. This gave the characteristics he wanted to have on the volleyball and in this way he obtained for the first time the ball characteristics of this sport.
