What is the carbon footprint? Whatever the sector of activity of your company, there are several methods that can allow you to assess your carbon footprint. In addition, consumers are increasingly turning to companies that continually invest in sustainability and green alternatives to reduce gas emissions. The carbon management is a methodology used to measure the carbon emissions emitted into the atmosphere by people, companies, governments ... It includes several routine activities that end up generating significant emissions. If all the cities of the world and all the companies carry out very similar activities, they end up generating an enormous amount of polluting gases. These gases can be measured, thus obtaining a carbon footprint corresponding to those activities carried out individually. In the same way, the ecological footprint that is measured through the amount of land necessary to support all our activities. The carbon footprint is the way to quantify greenhouse gas emissions that are released into the atmosphere directly or indirectly. Three quarters of the GHGs that are emitted correspond to carbon dioxide (CO2). Burning coal, natural gas, and oil for electricity and heating is the single largest source of global GHG emissions. It also includes the consumption of that electricity, so minimizing it contributes to reducing those emissions. And hence also that it is absolutely necessary to put aside those fossil fuels and opt for renewable energy sources. Making this change at the individual level can be difficult for the vast majority. However, these eight tips are easy for everyone to follow: 1 - Save electricity: turn off and unplug everything you do not use, and what you use, better in "economic mode". 2 - To illuminate, LED technology is the most efficient. 3 - Thermostat at 21ºC in winter and 25ºC in summer. 4 - Do not use a dryer: neither clothes, nor hair, nor hands. 5 - Save paper: all digital and print the essentials. 6 - Avoid anything to use and throw away: reuse is the key. 7 - Walk. If not, bike. If not, public transport. If not, share a car. If not, electric car. 8 - Grow plants or plant a tree. Photosynthesis is the best way to neutralize CO2 that has already been released into the atmosphere.
