It's Not my Fault |

I Can’t Help It We live in dysfunction when we live anywhere but in the present. Been working on my mindfulness these days. It’s difficult to do with all the distractions around, isn’t it? Some I created, some were learned, some seemed to be “thrust upon me.” At this point it doesn’t matter. I’m an adult now and what I do now is my choice. The distracting, avoiding, ignoring…all me. Before you start declaring, “I can’t help it…” I want you to stop right there. Saying you can’t help it is incredibly disempowering. Do you feel your energy drop when you say that? I sure do. This isn’t about casting blame—it’s about restoring power. And there are few things more powerful than taking responsibility. Which is the LAST thing Ego wants you to do, by the way…. Ego screams at you to do the opposite. And it’s easy to go along with the Ego because taking responsibility is painful—so we don’t do it. Here’s the golden nugget: OWNING your now allows you to change it. Sometimes it takes walking through a dark forest to reach the light in the clearing. So yes, it can hurt to become conscious, responsible and aware of the secrets you’ve been hiding. But I want to ask you something: Are you trying to avoid feeling the pain or avoid seeing the pain? Can you see the difference in the two? The first one, feeling, seeks a short-term, quick fix. No change here, no awareness - just handle the pain. The second one, seeing, is coming out of the darkness to move forward. This one is ALL about change. When you Own Your Now, you feel the pain BECAUSE you see the pain! The unconscious has become conscious. You are now mindful when your behavior choice is a distraction, keeping you from the Truth. Congratulations. This is the essence of taking responsibility. Here’s a tough nut to swallow-when we fail to see our divinity, our precious nature, no one hurts us worse than ourselves. THIS IS WHAT WE DON’T WANT TO OWN. THIS IS WHAT WE REFUSE TO ADMIT. It all comes back to self love. Forgiving YOU. Being kind and gentle with YOU. That brass ring you’ve been seeking? It’s inside you, Peaches. Practice heaven.
