Since the consumers are aware about ecological changes and how their choices can effect environment, they tend to go for products with sustainable packaging. Nonetheless, plastic packaging is still very popular and it has 54% share. Cardboard packaging has 11 % share. However, these figures are bound to change soon as there is a demand for smart and complex packaging. A food packaging industry can make its production process energy efficient by making use of right kind of fuel, machinery, etc. This will also ultimately bring down the production cost of their food item.
