I Don't Care |

I Don’t Care That’s your brain talking. It says: I don’t care what you choose to feel, act or think. No attachment, no alarm sounding when you make an unhealthy decision. It’s nothing personal. Just doesn’t matter to the brain. Y’no what the brain cares about? AGREEMENT. It seeks agreement. [Science calls this congruency.] This is one definite reason change is so difficult. Here’s another thing the brain cares about: the path of least resistance. [ease] Put those together [agreement + ease] and you and your brain are operating from default, from habit - not from choice. Self image comes to play a big role in this. My “Critical Parent” side says I’m stupid, lazy, loser, etc., etc. My “Higher Self” says I’m brilliant, loving, deserving, creative, etc., etc. Make no mistake - both sides are within you. Poor self image listens to the ever present, vocal Critical Parent AND THE BRAIN AGREES. Plus that voice is loud and strong, so it’s EASY TO LISTEN TO IT. If you want the brain to listen to a different voice, make it consistent and easy to hear. As you do this, you’ll find a different self image begins to emerge. [it was always there]
A few pointers....
It may take time to make that new path. You may stumble along the way. Expect to fall down. It’s ok. Just get back up again. That’s how a baby learns to walk; that’s how you learn to change. It will get easier. It will become your default. And before you know it, you have a new now. I’ll bring the knee pads.
Enjoy this attached video. No matter what, get back up again.
