Everything you need to know to get started in Riot's tactical shooter. Valorant is the new shooter of Riot Games. Unlike Call of Duty or Overwatch, Valorant is a tactical shooter, closer to Counter-Strike. That means precision is essential, teamwork is essential and every bullet can be deadly. If you've never played a tactical shooter before, or just want some refreshments on what separates Valorant from the rest of the shooter genre, we have a few tips to help you for Valorant rank boost. Valorant's basic match rules Each match has two teams of five players. Before the start of a match, each player selects a character (called an agent) with a unique set of abilities. Each team can only have one from each agent. Matches have rounds, and the first team to win 13 rounds wins the match. A team starts as attackers and a team starts as defenders, and after 12 rounds, the two teams change sides. The aim of the attackers is to drop a bomb (called a Spike) on one of the many bomb sites around the map. The defenders' job is, well, to defend, either by defusing the Spike after it is planted, or by preventing the attackers from planting the Spike within the time limit. Each team can also win a round by eliminating the other team, since there is no reappearance during a round. Tip #1: walk, don't run Each time you run in Valorant (which is the default movement speed), your footsteps will make noise and any nearby enemy may hear you. The race is so strong that there is even a small circle that appears on your mini-map to show you how far the sound of your steps is moving. The solution to all this noise is to walk instead of running while holding Shift. Walking is slower, of course, but it also makes you more precise if you need to shoot quickly before you can stop - and this makes you impossible to hear, allowing you and the rest of your team to sneak up. at enemy positions. Tip #2: Do not run or shoot Keeping in mind walking, you should know that shooting accurately and running do not mix with Valorant, so you should try to avoid it at all costs. If you run and see an enemy you want to kill, try to stop moving completely before shooting. It takes a while for your target to stabilize, but as you get used to it, you will have a better idea of ??when your shot will be accurate and when it will not. The growth and shrinkage of the reticle will even give you a hint of your accuracy. Tip #3: Know when to register your credits When you are new to Valorant, it can be tempting to buy weapons and abilities before each round, by spending the credits you have. But you shouldn't be doing this. Instead, you should save your Creds for better purchases and to synchronize with your team. For example: you probably cannot win a round if you are the only one on your team to have bought a pistol and everyone is stuck with the basic pistol. But if you save for a round or two and your teammates also get credits, then the five of you with weapons and armor will have a better chance of winning that round - and carrying that equipment forward. Tip #4: buy armor Guns are the most exciting thing to buy in Valorant, but guns are only good if you're alive to use them. That's where the armor comes in. Buying armor doesn't seem like the cool thing to do, but it's almost always the right decision. Without armor, your 100 hit points won't last long - one or two bullets could kill you. Tip #5: Keep your crosshair at head height The less you have to move your mouse, the faster you can aim and shoot. When walking, you should always try to keep your target at the same height as the head of an enemy. Most players - in all shooters, not just Valorant - tend to keep their crosshairs pointing towards the ground. But if you meet someone while aiming, you will have to move your goal up. If your goal is already around their head, it's a smaller movement to find the sweet spot, and therefore much faster.
