Active on issues ranging from gender equality to global warming, Marie Altagrace Astride Nazaire is a longstanding member of the Permanent Mission of Haiti to the United Nations in New York. Serving as Minister Counsellor, Marie Altagrace Astride Nazaire addresses complex macroeconomic policy topics that include disaster relief and international migration. Throughout her career, she has also tackled persistent cultural, social, and humanitarian policy issues.
Ms. Nazaire’s day-to-day responsibilities involve active engagement with diverse stakeholders, including senior academics, UN agencies, and heads of states. Also working with the business and public policy communities, she authors public statements on matters such as climate change, international migration, HIV/AIDS, poverty eradication, financing for development and sustainable development goals and least developed countries (LDC)
Ms. Nazaire has hosted a number of public service events and presented on climate change at Columbia University in New York City. Participating in UN resolution négociations and drafting, she has represented Haiti’s Ambassador at economic events in locales ranging from London to Istanbul. She participated in a 2008 conference at Windsor House in England on the topic “Climate Change and the Small Island Developing States.”
