The recipient of a bachelor's degree in English from the University of New Hampshire, Amy Purcell Vorenberg earned a master’s degree in early childhood education from Wheelock College before beginning her teaching career at Atrium School. Amy Purcell Vorenberg later taught third grade at Fessenden School and Shady Hill School (SHS) for a combined seven years before being promoted to lower school division head for SHS.
From 2006 to 2013, Amy Purcell Vorenberg served as head of school for The Philadelphia School and most recently worked four years in the same capacity for Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School, in Washington, D.C. Over more than 15 years in a leadership role, she has secured millions of dollars in fundraising for school-related projects such as repurposing a garage into a multipurpose theater, developing innovative teaching spaces, and launching programming to support equality and inclusion through the Kaleidoscope parent diversity group initiative.
Currently, Ms. Vorenberg is currently working on courses to secure a Certificate of Advanced Leadership from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. She has also completed multiple educational programs through the National Association of Independent Schools.
