A teacher working with early childhood students at the OFJCC Leslie Family Preschool in Palo Alto, California, Alice Zhang has completed core classes in the early childhood development program at Foothill College in Sunnyvale, California. She engages students with the Reggio Emilia teaching method, which allows them the opportunity to explore learning through relationships with their peers and through their senses - touching, moving, observing, and listening. Drawing upon the education she received in Sunnyvale, Alice Zhang promotes a nurturing classroom environment that emphasizes exploration.
Prior to becoming a teacher, Ms. Zhang spent more than a decade as an accountant with a prominent firm in San Jose, California. She specialized in managing auditing teams for IPOs and multinational public offerings.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Shanghai International Business University with a bachelor of arts in both French and English prior to earning her MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Outside of her work at the preschool, Ms. Zhang plans to launch the Butterfly Chinese Immersion Learning Center, her own family childcare business, in the summer of 2018.
