When Dr. Wesley Van Johnson was a boy, the revivalist Rev. A.A. Allen blessed him and prayed over his body before prophesying that the young man would follow in his footsteps and become a preacher of the healing and redemption offered by Jesus Christ. Dr. Wesley Van Johnson frequently cites Jeremiah 1:5 when he talks about his own call to minister. In this passage, God tells a man that he was chosen to be a prophet before he was born.
A man of deep faith from his youngest years, Dr. Van Johnson is now an ordained bishop who has helped found new churches on three continents. He focuses his ministry largely on the developing world and has helped bring the word of God to Africa. In addition, he is involved with First Nation and Native American communities. He has traveled to reservations across Canada and the United States to minister to these communities.
He is a graduate of the University of California and the School of Bible Theology Seminary, where he earned his doctor of divinity.
