Bombardier beetles are small insects that can defend themselves by shooting a spray of boiling hot chemicals from their rear end. The spray is made up of a mixture of chemicals, including hydrogen peroxide and hydroquinone, which react together to create a hot, foul-smelling liquid. The spray can cause pain and irritation to predators, and in some cases, it can even kill them.
