Does the post office still deliver mail? Just!
|
These days, it becomes extremely difficult to send a letter, even if only local delivery is expected. The U.S. Postal Service has deteriorated to such an extent that they now routinely throw ''inaccessible'' and ''return to sender'' labels on much of the letters. It does not matter what condition you are in and what type of letters you send. The post office is now the enemy of small businesses and ordinary people. In fact, if you want to send anything anywhere, you have to be careful about the recent events that are occurring throughout the United States.
Do not misunderstand me; In terms of our post office in comparison to the uninspiring postal services in countries around the world, we are close to the top in efficiency. Scary thought, as this is unfortunately a world in which there are entire nations like Nigeria, Egypt, Spain, Russia and Greece who routinely lose mail on a large scale. People who need something delivered in these nations must ask for their letters or packages to reach the recipients or use private companies like Fedex or UPS, which can be expensive. That is why the bar is so low in efficiency that it is now at the pathetic level. Delivering mail for any length of time is a challenge. Being the best in this industry is not that a mild feat.
U.S. citizens used to trust our post office. Benjamin Franklin, the founder of the first national post office organized on the planet, would revel in his grave if he knew how to delegate his beloved postal service.
The motto of the Post Office is:
Neither the snow nor the rain nor the heat nor the darkness of the night remain these couriers for the quick completion of their designated rounds.
This motto is explained on the post office's main website. The origin of the motto explained by them is the following:
This inscription was provided by William Mitchell Kendall of McKim's firm, Mead & White, the architects who designed the New York General Post Office. Kendall said the prayer appears in the works of Herodotus, describing the Greeks' expedition against the Persians under Cyrus, around 500 BC. C. The Persians operated a fitted postal supply system and the prayer describes the faithfulness with which their work was performed.
The motto no longer fits - FACT
Does anyone who has experience with the use of postal services in this nation like its performance? I do not think. One of my businesses is a C.M.R.A., which means commercial mail receiving agency, and I have a unique perspective on the internal functioning of this ineffective relic of the past, which we call the post office.
Here is a perfect example last month of how well the mail is being delivered. One of my offices is located in Florida, and we send paychecks to employees for this office. We have had problems with the post office since 1996 when I successfully startedoffoff.com. Our complaints span years. Last week we had enough, as paychecks for employees still returned the stamp ''unknown recipient, returns to sender''. This would be fun if it wasn't so sad, but I actually made a video that was soon on YouTube in which letters from the post office were returned with their stickers. Search for ''Post Office Stinks'' Imagine if your own company sent you your paycheck and the post office that returned it sealed that it could not be delivered. Our manager then goes to the local office located in Pompano Beach Florida and complained. They say everything is fine, so we will send the checks again without opening them to keep the postal stickers. Three weeks later, they return again with another stamp saying the recipient is unknown. Is it sad or what? I had to send the checks to Fedex there, and then got the manager to come into the post office to open the letter with the return label to the sender, which now also contained the second letter with the return label to the sender.
