MSK ultrasounds are ultrasounds of joints, such as a shoulder ultrasound or foot ultrasound. The pressure from the government and health insurers to control healthcare costs is immense. With increasing waiting times, the interests of the patient are increasingly out of the picture. In this way, the balance is increasingly tilted to the disadvantage of the patient. However, a patient benefits from quick access to ultrasound diagnostics because a quick diagnosis is crucial for a speedy recovery. Education
After studying medicine (Erasmus University), Dr. Jamal Guenoun focused on radiology. Dr. Guenoun became a radiologist at Erasmus MC, the largest academic center in the Netherlands. During the radiology training, dr. Guenoun promoted in the field of imaging of (stem) cells: Cellular Imaging. Cellular Imaging involves the imaging of abnormalities at the cellular level. In 2017, dr. Guenoun completed his PhD with a thesis and completed a fellowship (subspecialization) in musculoskeletal radiology. Dr. Guenoun has gained international experience as a radiologist in the United Kingdom (Cambridge and Kings' College). In addition to Ultrasound Doctor, dr. Guenoun is currently at the Acibadem International Medical Center in Amsterdam as an MSK radiologist. Here he performs ultrasound-guided injections and does assessments of MRI, CT, ultrasound and X-rays.

Early in his career, Dr. Guenoun studied the ultrasound of the musculoskeletal system at the University Hospital Antwerp (UZA), under the supervision of Prof. Jan Gielen, a well-known authority in MSK radiology within Europe. Affiliated with the NEAC (Dutch Ultrasound Academy), dr. Since 2018, Guenoun has been providing ultrasound education to physicians in a variety of specialties and paramedics (including general practitioners, cosmetic doctors, surgeons, sports physicians and podiatrists). He is also a speaker at various radiological conferences.
