Bursitis Of The Hip |
|
A bursa is a small flat cushion-like structure, one to three inches in size, usually found in between a muscle and a bone. It helps provide protection and less friction. Bursitis is pain at the point of the hip. Pain will occur when the bursa becomes injured, pinched or inflamed. When the bursa is inflamed, it is called bursitis. It can affect anyone, but is more common in women and middle-aged or elderly people. It is less common in younger people and in men.
The treatment of bursitis depends upon how severe the pain is. In general, if pain does not improve with ice and rest, then medical evaluation is a good idea. For more information about hip bursitis visit here http://www.painspot.com/diagnosis_search/bursitis_of_the_hip |
