Oh, so you missed the Opening Gala of the Centenary of the Royal Air Force at the Royal Albert Hall? Don’t worry too much about it old chap. You haven’t missed all of the fun. In fact, the celebrations have just begun. The RAF100 celebrations will run through until November 30, 2018. The idea behind this centenary is to reflect on the full century of service in the Royal Air Force. The official celebrations kicked on April 1st but there were other presentations that pre-empted the opening gala like the one that was held in the Princess Marina House with the female personnel from RAF Odiham. RAF100 Scheduled Events The Centenary of the Royal Air Force - RAF100 will be commemorated via a series of events in 2018. As we all know the RAF was formed in the 1st of April 1918. Book your stay at Mowbray Court Hotel Kensington to be a part of this event. Opening Gala at the Royal Albert Hall The first event, the opening gala, was scheduled on 31st of March. It was hosted by Dan Snow and Carol Vorderman. The gala featured music from different bands such as the Queen’s Colour Squadron, Salon Orchestra, Royal Air Force Squadronaires, and the Royal Air Force band. Foundation Day The next event was set exactly 100 years after the RAF was officially organized back in the First World War, April 1st 2018. To mark the date, celebrations were made in the Royal Air Force Museum. Entire families gathered together for fun filled activities, flag making workshops, as well as theatre performances.
