Traditional VS Modern Nurse Calling Sytem: A Comparative Study ny JPnovation Posted: March 16, 2023 @ 5:19 am |
Hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical facilities have hardwired nurse call systems. Patients push buttons or pads to call a nurse or other medical staff member with these systems. Near the patient's bed or chair are the buttons or pads. Conventional nurse call systems contain a central panel where nurses and other medical professionals may see which patients have called. The middle panel may display the location of patients who have touched their call buttons or pads. Current wireless nurse call systems use many wireless devices to connect patients to nurses and other medical workers. Home, assisted living, and other medical settings use these systems. A base station connects wireless nurse call systems to the hospital or nursing home's call system. Pendants, wristbands, bed alarms, and chair alarms communicate with the base station. Relevance The base station sends a signal to the nurse's station when a patient pushes their call button or alarm, allowing staff to identify the patient. Wireless nurse call systems usually have two-way intercoms, automatic fall detection, and GPS tracking.
