In the last few years there has been a major increase in the guest WiFi services everywhere. There are now more businesses that are offering free guest WiFi at a broader level. On one hand public WI-Fi offers free Internet browsing to the Internet users at the same time it also brings them a high risk of security if the network on which they are connected is not fully secured.
Considering the public WiFi provider all over the world are using advanced firewall and VPN security measures to secure WiFi browsing. Still if the following WiFi network is not GDPR compliant then it would not be beneficial for a user to browse on it.
GDPR compliant public wifi is always safe to browse for the user as it protects the personal and confidential information of the user when a user is connected on the following network. Since 2018 in the UK alone it has been made mandatory for all the merchants that are dealing with online payments and online transactions to follow GDPR compliance effectively to ensure safety of the user data.
