Posted: January 19, 2015 |
Randy Dunnett is a successful former professional baseball player that was a right handed pitcher for a number of teams in and around the area of Chicago, Illinois. Dunnett has since become a coach and trainer for emerging baseball talent, having founded a school and facility where he works with the youth and teams that are active in the Chicago baseball community. He also competed at the collegiate level, playing for Belmont University where he shined as a starting pitcher on the team for two years. He shares his knowledge of the game with students based on his experiences as a player, experiences as a coach and experiences as a student of the game. One of the things he focuses on is pitching. His experience as a pitcher are shared with each student and he brings his best to each interaction based on the skills he is teaching and the mentality that is required to perform in the game at an elite level. He knows that pitchers need to exhibit speed, so he works with a lot of talent on the strength and flexibility that are components of speed, especially in a pitcher’s form and delivery. Strength training, practice, review, analysis, form, release and much more go into developing a pitcher’s speed. Every element matters. Having a fastball that is powerful is one of the most important aspects for a pitcher’s game. Randy Dunnett develops this with his pitchers by getting them to harness the energy of their entire bodies into every element of the pitch, from windup to follow through.
